The Providence Anarchist Bookfair hopes to bring together people struggling to destroy capitalism, imperialism, patriarchy, heterosexism, racism, colonialism, statism and all other forms of oppression.
The Providence Anarchist Bookfair explores the ideas of a system that avoids the use of coercion, violence, force and authority, while still producing a productive and desirable society. The Providence Anarchist Bookfair advocates stateless societies based on non-hierarchical voluntary associations.
Every year, the Providence Anarchist Book Fair offers a chance to share ideas, meet like-minded folk, and support the exchange of knowledge and the written word, with representation from radical publishers and booksellers, and local and regional collectives, organizations, and artists. We'll be bringing together different groups and individuals who are committed to anti-capitalist and anti-authoritarian art, action, and organizing. Holding the Book Fair at FooFest gives us a chance to connect with Providence communities who may not often come into contact with radical ideas, and to inspire people to think beyond and outside of the capitalist state and its institutions.
Do I have to be an anarchist to attend?
No! The Providence Anarchist Bookfair is for anarchists and those curious about anarchist ideas and practice. If you’re interested in any of the programming we have to offer, we encourage you to join in on the fun.
